Sheetrock Fastening
- Space screws at 24in. MAX intervals horizontally and always fall on studs.
- Space screws at 12in. MAX vertically along studs.
- Along coffer lines and around doors/windows, screws should occur at 12in. MAX intervals.
- No nails used on sheetrock.
- Maintain minimum of 12" screw pattern from interior partition walls for movement at celling.
Sheetrock Clips
Clip Specifications:
Maximum spacing without clip is 6”
Maximum Spacing without a clip is referring to the truss location to the wall. If the truss is within 6” of the adjacent wall, clips are not necessary.
- Maximum 12” between clips
- Maximum distance from a seam is 1”
Maximum 12” between clips is the spacing on the ceiling at the edge parallel to the truss. Please refer to the previous picture. In addition to the 12” spacing between clips, we want to position the first clip 1” from the seam. This is also in the previous picture.
