Exterior Water
- Regionally water cutoff valve is installed outside of the slab and flatwork.
- Hose bibs are insulated, anchored, and exposed no more than 4” for brick on a standard slab or 5” on a brick ledge slab (as specified in detail D-1.1).
- All water supply lines on an exterior wall must be fully insulated.
- Install hose bibbs using a 1/2" threaded drop ear 90, and using a 1/2 diameter 5" threaded galvanized nipple, this facilitates easy repairs without breaking brick.
- Hose bibbs should tilt away from the brick to prevent homeowners from hurting their knuckles on brick such as A.Y. McDonald and Legend brands.
